How’s your riding going this year ?

My riding this year has well lets call it interesting! I haven’t had the best of starts. As I am now in Junior Women I have to focus on European rounds and I haven’t quite been consistent! As for racing boys, it’s always a fun class and I love mixing it up a little, girl power and all that. But my main focus is worlds if I don’t win anything I just hope to get the W1x2 again.

Who is your toughest competition in Europe ?

In Europe my toughest competition is myself. I can always remember what Marco said to me at the British Champs of 2004 "I believe I am the fastest but its myself I have to beat!

What do you think your inconsistency is down to ?

(Laughs) Good question I don’t think its down to one particular thing! I can only blame myself, I am learning, there have been a lot of changes this year so much is happening for the sport of BMX racing! Perhaps I have been a little off set by it all. But like I say this year is a learning year, you can only improve from your mistake, that’s the way you improve immensely.

You are on the new Olympic/talent/GB squad, there has been a lot of criticism about the selection and treatment of riders, what do you reckon?

Has there? You got to be in it to know how it really is! You know something not many people will ever know what its really like because they wont have the opportunity to ever find out! My thought on the whole thing is its amazing the amount of work people are putting in for the squad is mega! We as a team could not wish for more! I find ever since I have started bmx there has been a lot of criticism so I didn’t really expect people to be 100% behind the whole squad! It’s a shame that some people are not down with the whole thing but oh well I’m sure everyone in 2008 will be watching and supporting the riders !

There are a lot of up and coming riders that maybe should be looked at for potential Olympic call ups, which younger riders do you rate?

Yes England has a lot of potential riders male and female! I think there are a number of very gifted and talented riders to name a few I think Abbey Taylor, the girl has skill and is very dedicated with good family backing behind her, which is very important to have! Guys like Andrew Cameron, Levi Ashley, Ryan Stack. There are so many to list, all these have great prospects for future Olympic games.

You ride a lot with Luke Gamble, and you race him at Nationals, what are your thoughts on him?

Luke Gamble I have known him for a few years now! He has a lot of potential if he had a better kind of attitude. He’s a very good rider and has been since he started BMX back in the day. Some things he says and does I don’t agree with, I’m sure its the same visa versa .The kid could go far who knows good luck yowth.

You’ll be going to Paris as 2x World Champion, what are your goals ?

You know I set goals every year and you want to hear what they are? Maintain what I did the year before! I work hard and I hope to come out w1x2 again I believe 100% I can, but who can ever predict a BMX race ?

Now for a serious question…who’s the hottest guy on the European BMX scene this year?

(Laughs) that’s a tough call but it has to be the French coach! When I see that guy he makes me go all funny.

Fabrice Vetoretti ?

Yes Yes Oh Yay!

Anything you’d like to add ?

I’d like to say thank you to all my sponsors for keeping me dialed! To my family! Also to my coach Jeremy Hayes without him I wouldn’t be were I am! And thanks Ria hunny.

Thanks Shindowg, Good luck for the rest of the season…
