The newest version of the Thomson stem is machined from 7000 series aluminum. Lightweight - 50mm stem weights approximately 199 grams. The new stem features a much lower stack height, thicker handlebar clamp and a switch to using 6mm bolts in all 8 positions. It is available in black. It takes in excess of 400 foot pounds of torque to get the handlebars to slip, no stem comes close to that number.
